Cor.: How did your band come to existance? Answer: Oleg Cherny, Kirill Kirilin and Sergey Krasavin are the institutors and constant band members. All of them work on Christian radio today. It was there, in the "Radiochurch" studio that the idea of creating a band came to existence. It was followed by the first experience of recording, choosing musicians and so on. There were a lot of people who desired to participate in the project, however, as a rule, they didn't last for too long. The reason was known - there was too much work and too little money. To be more specific - no money at all. Cor.: Why have you chosen the name „Adonay”? Answer: I don't know how to put it better, we just liked the name. We had been thinking for a long time, then somebody made a suggestion and everyone approved it. Cor.: What is the style of music you perform and how did you decided to play the kind of music you are playing? Answer: We wouldn't say that the word "techno" describes the style accurately, because there are many different styles in the music we play. There are songs that are quite different one from another. You can hear aftersounds of medieval Gothic chorals a'la "Vangelis", and African percussion mixed with modern guitar drive. In some songs, such as "7 angels", "Judgment day" and "War", we hear Apocalyptic flavor. We often use unedited Biblical text for the lyrics. Cor.:What is the driving force for you - the desire to express yourself in your artistic creation or the desire to reach some certain group of people with the Gospel? Answer: I believe, it is the desire to evangelize first of all, and the rest - is the second. There is no sense in just showing off "Here we are, love us". We are believers and we have to preach the Gospel with all the means that are available to us. Creativity is an element of Evangelization. Cor .: How do you see modern world - both Christian and non-Christian? What advantages and disadvantages do you see? Answer: We have an ambivalent attitude to the world: on one hand, musically, there are a lot good musicians, that could teach us, and, on the other hand, we are against anti-Christian manifestations in music. Cor.: What musicians do you like? Answer: „Adhesive tape productive line” with their first album, „Drozdy” with their album „Heart transplantation”, and, „New Jerusalem” (it's classics), „Vin Znaye” - their last album. Cor.: What foreign musicians do you prefer? Answer: Oleg prefers hard rock, something like „Petra”, Kirl and Sergey „POD”, „Pillar”, „Thousand Foot Krutch”, „Creed”. Cor.: Talking about your favorite music, you named the bands who play aggressive music rap-core, hardcore. However aggression is not particular for Christianity. Answer: Aggressiveness of music depends mostly on the texts, on musicians' behavior. For example, if we take Limp Bizkit or KORN, the lyrics of the song bring destruction and the music only amplifies the effect. Cor.: What do you think about modern Christian music? Answer: It's not a secret that as to the modern Christian music, the Christians can be divided into two categories - the ones who "for" it, and the ones who "against" it. We have always believed that there can be any Christian music at all, there is only Christian lyrics. However, there is music for church services, worship music, liturgy music. It must be acceptable for everyone, at least, for most of the people. However, if you sing the words that call you to sin - such music will be prompting to sin. The same principle applies in other directions. If some songs are performed in some alternative genre and have Christian lyrics, the songs will have Christian impact. Cor.: What are you plans for future? Answer: We have very ambitious plans. First of all - is to release the next album. We are still trying to find a band for live performing that we could go into church level and play at Rock festival in the Far East. We do have difficulties. We need people, we need rehearsal basis. We need money. The main thing we need is dependable people - the people are going to be earnest about what they are doing. Cor.: For our readers: we can they purchase your album?
