Corr.: Why the title of your album is "I was Looking for Friends?" Answer: Because in this album we wanted to tell that one cannot find sincere and good friends in the world of sin that we used to live in. And man becomes lonely, doesn't find understanding, gets hurt and disappointed. We also want to show the other side of life, to tell that there is a God who never leaves our prayers unanswered. In Christ Jesus you can find friends that won't leave you alone if you have problems. Corr.: What audience do you write and perform songs for? Answer: Almost all of our songs are evangelistic. They are addressed to people of different categories and of different ages. We cannot say that our music and songs belong to a particular style. Most likely, they are extraordinary. Corr.: How does your group work on songs? Answer: I write songs everywhere. I can wake up in the middle of the night and start writing down songs and music. Sometimes my songs are being born in the transport. The most important thing is to be ready to receive the melody and text that God wants to show and give you. There are ffour people in our group now. We write lyrics and music ourselves, and we also arrange our songs by ourselves for we think that the real meaning and spiritual sense of a song can be best expressed and represented by the one who wrote it. Corr.: What is music for you? Answer: Music is a strength that can revive a man and give him satisfaction or invoke and bring up some of his negative qualities. I can even tell more: music is a spirit. Music that people listen to reflects their character, their inner world, their desires and aspirations. In our songs we try to show those sides of music that can touch man's soul the most. When man's heart is open, one can put there anything they please. God has given us a great opportunity with the help of our music and our songs to open people's hearts and put his truth, his love, and his wisdom into them. Praise God! Corr.: Where do performances of group "God's Gift" take place? Answer: All these years we preach God's Word and evangelize not only in Kiev, but all around Ukraine. In our songs we seek to tell people about the one who created them, who wloves them and wishes to give them life; we also sing about our own lives. In our songs we reflect our feelings, our faith and aspiration to reach others in the way that Jesus has reached us. At evangelistic services that we hold people receive Jesus Christ in their lives, there are many new and growing churches organized. In 1996, in the bank of the Desna our church "God's Gift" has been helding services in tent for four months. Every day we had people come to our tent, listen to our songs and to the preaching of the Gospel, and receive Jesus Christ in their lives. Many of them are now working for the benefit of the church of Christ Jesus. Corr.: What plans does your collective has for the future? Answer: Usually every summer group "God's Gift" works at Christian camps with children who have not received Jesus Christ yet. At the camp's location, we also organize music services for the population. Now we prepare to record a new album. Corr.: Could you tell us about yourselves, your friends, and your hobbies? Olga Bobkova: I first came to the "God's Gift" church when I was 14. When I understood what Jesus Christ did for all people in general and for me in particular, my heart became full of gratefulness to God. I felt a great desire to praise him and do something for his Kingdom and for those people who haven't understood God's love and haven't received God's forgiveness yet. For some time I have been asking God to give me a ministry in the church so that through this ministry people could get to know about Jesus. I was very glad to be invited to work in the music ministry. From that moment I began to do my best to let God embody his will through me. God has entrusted me with the music ministry. I want to note that never before did I write lyrics or music, I never sang, and I had no voice, but when Jesus came to my life it became part of me. Though I have been studying piano in a music school for 4 years, I graduated from it with a little knowledge which soon got lost because I have not been playing almost anything for 2 years. I thank to God who didn't let me perish, but gave me life full of meaning and joy. Now I work in the "God's Gift" church as a musician and leader of the youth ministry. I graduated from a four-year Bible college. I love dancing. I have many friends in Kiev, in other places of Ukraine, and abroad. Many of them are musicians, missionaries, and church ministers. I've been singing with group "God's Gift" for five years. Irina Belik, Jr.: I study at a secondary school and am a leader of the "God's Gift" church dancing group. Our family received Jesus Christ in 1991. My father, Vasily Pavlovich Belik, is the pastor of the "God's Gift" church. Me and my mother, Irina Nickolayevna Belik, sing at group "God's Gift." I have been studying piano at a music school for five years. Now I play at youth services in our church. I have many friends not only in Kiev, but also in other cities and countries. We are currently gathering a new music youth evangelistic group. Irina Belik, Sr. We have three children in our family. In 1991, the Lord revealed himself to all of us. The same year God gave all of our family a ministry in his Kingdom. Now I'm working as a church choir precentor. In 1998, I graduated from a four-year Bible college. The desire of my heart is to bring the Good News to all people so that nobody would perish, but all have eternal life. Vasily Pavlovich Belik: Lord Jesus saved me, lead from the kingdom of darkess to the kingdom of light, to God's Kingdom. Now I am a pastor of the "God's Gift" church. Our ministry is to save people and strengthen their faith. The "God's Gift" church preaches the Gospel of Jesus Christ and prepares missionaries who are able to reveal Jesus Christ to people. Since 1996, when our church held a tent evangelistic outreach, it became clear that music is a powerful weapon in the hands of God's children. Music and the word of God change souls, strengthen spirit, gives us victory over sin. We try our music to be meaningful, and our songs to reflect the teaching of Jesus Christ. I believe that in accordance with the prophecy of Apostle John the sharp sword of spirit which comes out of the mouth of the Son of God changes peoples. Corr.: Why is your group called "God's Gift?" Answer: We had different variants of the name for our group, but wherever we came people received us as God's gift. Wherever we were we tried to be God's gift for people and eventually it became our name. It is not just a name, it is our essence.
