Cor.: How did you start singing and writing music for God? Answer: After I got converted in 1990 I went to Bible school in the city of Vilnius. Having finished the school, my friends, wife and I decided to come back to Poltava. There was a need for worship leader in a new church (I played some guitar) and they told me: "Go ahead". So I've been "going ahead" till this time. Cor.: Why did you give the group this name? Answer: I'm worship leader in the church and play in the group "GGR" (as you could guess, it is abbreviations of "God's Glory Radiance") - this is the name of our church. Cor.: How do you write your songs? Answer: We write each song in a different way. But mainly it's a creative team-work. There are ready-made songs, which we just need to arrange, and some songs were created during the rehearsals. Sasha is the most educated musically - all his life he played in professinal groups (honestly speaking, he is a real professional), and he listens carefully to our suggestions in order to discuss them with us. Personally, it's a great blessing from God - to serve Jesus with Sasha. He doesn't let us do a harum-scarum job. He allots almost all vocal parts and teaches us how to sing. I want to emphasize again that songs of "GGR" are a team-work. Dema and Misha are actively engaged in writing. Cor.: What is music for you? Answer: Music is not the goal for us, but it's a means of getting across our feelings and thoughts about God to the brothers and sisters, to all the world. If you want, you can call it a bait. Cor.: Who is your audience? Answer: I cannot tell exactly. I guess, our music is interesting for the youth and the people from 30 to 35. If old men and women fail to listen to us, it's just because for them God has anointed some other musicians. Cor.: Where do you happen to perform? Answer: We've praised the Lord in churches, in the streets, in Christian camp, in rehabilitation center for drug addicts. We want to get to the places where the youth hangs out (discos, night clubs etc.). Cor.: We know that you are a pastor of the church, could you share some more about yourself. Answer: My name is Igor Ubiy-Vovk. Born October 23, 1968. Married. My wife's name is Lena. We've got 3 children: Ilona, Karina, David.
