Cor.: Why did your project get such a name? Dubov S..: I should say, for a long time we did without a name. This name came to my mind when I saw very beautiful roots of the trees washed by water on the bank of Volga river. I realized that the name "Korni" (roots)in the best way corresponds to our music and to the ideology of our group. No one argued. Cor.: Tell us please about yourself. Dubov S.: I was born on June 9, 1975, I'm the guitarist of "Korni", the author of some songs and the leader of all the musicians. I didn't finish my high-school education, in 1991-93 I studied in the Tver Artistic School. Became a believer in1992. Besides music I'm fond of graphics and crafts. I'm also fond of music, crafts and cars. I like animals only on the distance, most of all cats and reptiles. I think hedgehogs are cool too. Zhuravleva A.: I was born on February 12, 1975, I'm a vocalist and composer in the "Korni". Education: Tver Artistic School (major in painting and teaching), I also studied in different schools (music school, artistic school and high school). I became a believer in 1995. Besides music I'm fond of arts and once again of arts, sometimes sing in a choir. One of my bad habits is sleeping. Besides, I'm too critical with my husband, but it will change. I tend to feel blue, but it'll change too. My favorite music is western Rock-n-Roll of the 50-60s, "Yes", John Michael Talbot, Celtic music, Catholic choirs and all the ethnic music. Favorite dish - rolls with cabbage . Kalinov M.: I was born on May 6, 1975, I'm a guitarist in "Korni". I also studied in the Tver Artistic School. My diploma says I'm an artistic teacher. I became a believer on August 4, 1992. I'm married, try not to have bad habits. I work in the Church of Risen Christ in the town of Tver: I'm teaching the Sunday school and art-studio. Most of all I like classical music (Bach), and also Radiohead and Yes; my favorite Christian bands are - Iona, Delirius. I dream about a big bus, equipped as a hotel, to go to different countries and preach to children Ivanov I:I was born on May 9 1975. I'm the drummer. I repented in 1992. I've got basic professional education, in other words I graduated from the same Tver Artistic School. Besides music I work as an artist in an advertising agency. It's difficult to say something about my bad habits, because I don't really know which one is the worst. I'm fond of cinema (watching movies). My favorite musicians are B. Brufford, Robert Fripp, David Bowie, Å. Fedorov (Tequillajazzz) Anosov I.:I was born on May 18, 1977ã. In "Kroni" I'm the keyboard player, became a believer in 1995. I graduated from the professional school (Tver Artistic School)and some musical education - violin. Don't have any marital status. Besides music, I work in advertising. I'm fond of digging wells and studying articles. My hobby is (may be you can't tell) eating. In my free time I like to walk around the town. Favorite music: King Crimson, Radiohead, Yes, Led Zeppelin, Iona Argentov P: I was born on October 9, 1972, the trumper in "The Roots". Education: higher, scientific. Believer since 1991. I'm married, have two children. When I'm not making music, I usually do household chores or work at the computer. Among my bad habits I can name wondering along Internet. I'm fond of everything. As for music, I like folk, rock and blues, but usually can listen to anything. My favorite band is «Masada» and their album «Good Name». MY favorite dish is a can of mayonnaise Cor.: Tell us, how was your band founded? Are there professional musicians among you? Dubov S.: All of us have major in painting. We studied in the local Artistic School, two of our guys are still studying. Shura, besides that, graduated from a musical school. I personally, left the school in the third year of studying. Starded spiritual and musical activity. And I've always dreamed to play music. Cor.: Who is the author of your songs? Dubov S.: The authors of our music are mostly Shura and I. She is the only author of the lyric. Cor.: How do you see yourself as a Christian band? Answer: In our songs we want to tell about God, about faith, we want to share what we got in our lives. Nevertheless, we try not to "overload" the listener and not to enforce him to our point of view. Cor.: Aren't you afraid to browbeat the wider audience? Answer: Not at all. We try to have our own audience. I'm surprised that the songs about drugs and violence are accepted,while the songs of faith are neglected. That's why we don't like to participate in all-stars concerts. There is mostly promiscuous audience. They don't care about the songs. They gather just for a squeeze, to drink bear and to spend time. I noticed that people in such concerts are alike. Cor.: How do you see your own audience, who comes to your concerts? Answer: The most different people. From 15-year-olds to elderly people. The most important thing is that they come to listen to our songs. We already know some of them. This is the best benefit in comparison with the all-stars concerts. We want to know our audience by face and know that these faces are intellectual, spiritual.
