The group was formed in December 1989, in the Belorussian city of Brest. For our first missionary trip we went to Yakutiya. A year later, all the members of the group took a vacation at the same time and went there again to give a series of concerts in prisons of the Yakutsk region. In the beginning, we rented equipment from our friends and acquiantances. We played a lot, giving many concerts all over the USSR. In 1990, the group went to Yakutsk prisons again. Soon after, all participants of "Salvation" left their official jobs and decided to fully dedicate their lives to sharing the Good News with people. For the next three months the group had no support, but the Lord did not abandon us. We got our own equipment and a van. Since then, "Salvation" tours all over the CIS (Belarus, Ukraine, Tatarstan, the Siberia, the Baikal, the Amur, and the Far East) and tells people about life with God. Many people came to Jesus after meeting "Salvation" and hearing their songs and the truth about the Lord. Because of our work, many churches and cell groups were open in different places of the CIS. In the summer of 1995, the group held courses for 100 Belorussian youth leaders dedicated to the problems of spiritual growth. This initiative had a greate success, and for many churches became a starting point in their constant work with the youth and new believers. ALEXANDER BORISYUK - Evangelist, pastor of the church "Salvation," author of songs. PAVEL SHELPUK - Music leader of the group, singer, bass guitar and violin player, sound engineer, sound producer. IGOR MUKHA - Singer, acoustic guitar player. PYOTR SEMENYUK - Singer, keyboard instruments player, arranger, creator of phonograms. LEONID BORISEVICH - Singer, electric guitar player, composer. STYLE Christian pop music ALBUMS OF THE GROUP "SALVATION": 1. "Khabarovsky Krai" (audio cassette) Songs from this album were recorded in 1991-92. Some of them were written on tour in Yakutia and the Far East while others are well-known Christian songs in instrumental arrangement. 2. "Old Songs" (audio cassette) Songs recorded in 1990-93 at the studio TWR. This album consists of popular Russian Christian songs and songs written on missionary trips throughout Russia. 3. "My God is the Rock" (audio cassette & CD) This album was recorded in Brest in 1993; this year the music studio of the group "Salvation" was open, and this was the first album recorded at this studio. 4. "Only You" (audio cassette & CD) The album was recorded in 1995 in the style of pop rock. 5. Musical "Return" (audio cassette) A story of the prodigal son of our days; recorded in 1995. 6. "A Man Without a Chisel" (audio cassette & CD) The album was recorded at our studio in 1997, it consists of pop rock songs for those listening to modern music. 7. "The Clock Strikes" (audio cassette & CD) A very interesting album recorded in 1998 for those who remember old songs of Russian Christians of past generations. We performed these songs in a very simple manner, for we tried not to loose their original sense and contents. As an exception, there is also one song in Afrikaans which we learnt in the South Africa. 8. The next album is to come.
