Corr.: Could you please tell us about your concert tours? Answer: For the time of its existence, the group gave thousands of concerts. We visited Yakutsk, Nerungri, Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Komsomolsk-upon-Amur, Nickolayevsk-upon-Amur, Irkutsk and the Irkutsk oblast, Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, Moscow and the Moscow oblast, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Tomsk and many other cities and towns of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Estonia and Latvia. We had two long tours over South Africa and one tour in Great Britain. Since 1991, every year we have tours over Germany. From April to June 1999 we had a tour over America. Corr.: How does the group work on its songs? Answer: The group "Salvation" writes its music and lyrics for its songs at its small studio in Brest. We record our songs on tapes and CD's and spread them over the CIS, Germany and America. We make new arrangements for old songs and write our original songs where we share with the audience our personal feelings and carry the good news of God. Our musical "Prodigal Son" has already made many people think about their lives and helped them come back to God the Father. At our studio we also record other Christian artists, groups, and choirs. Through these records many people can hear God's Word. Corr.: So the group carries the Good News not only by means of its concerts? Answer: We carry the Good News of God in many ways. We give concerts, meet with people and make friends with them, organize Christian festivals all over the CIS, meet with the believing and unbelieng youth which pushes churches to work with the young. We also conduct Bible seminars in schools, clubs, coleges and universities. The purpose of our work is to introduce people to Christ, encourage them, train them, help them raise up spiritually and get rid of occult burdens. This work often helps new churches to be founded. Many new believers in order to grow spiritually need to hear a sound teaching. Corr.: Do you feel a personal responsibility for the growth in people's souls of those good seeds that were put there by your songs? Answer: "Salvation" helps Bible study groups and conducts courses in the places where we gave our concerts and meetings and where people who had previously had no contacts with a church repented. Then we often help found a new church, and we continue helping this church in the future. Our seminars for churches and Christian groups where traveling preachers and lecturer take part are also very popular. Church members from Belarus, Azerbaijan, Baikal, and the Magadan region listened to such seminars. Then we spread tapes with records of these seminars and talk to people personally. When we help openeing a church, our main goal is to strengthen young Christians, help them reveal their gifts, serve God and by this receive new impulses for their work in their churches. Corr.: So "Salvation" is a worship team that eventually organized its church? Answer: In our city of Brest, we organized home Bible studies for those interested. Before that our students never attended a church; there were university students and professors, artists, and even ex-mafioso and Muslims among them. Many of these people now have a personal relationship with God. In spring 1996, the church "Salvation" was formed out of these home groups. We had several baptisms, and by the middle of 1998 there were about 70 members in our church. And all this happened owing to Jesus Christ! Now the group prays that every member of the church be not just a formal believer, but an active part of the body of Christ, know their calling and take their place in the church. Unfortunately, so far our church does not have its own building. In the winter and in the summer we have services in an old military tent. We welcome people who wish to help us with finances or labor force to contact us by our address. Corr.: What does music mean to you? Answer: Music is an approach to people, it has a personal touch. Corr.: What category of people do you perform your songs for? Answer: For the thinking people, no matter how old they are. Corr.: Where do you perform? Answer: Events that we organize take place in culture palaces, at schools, in prisons, at enterprises, on the streets and in churches - anywhere where people are ready to listen about God. We give concerts, hold meeting with the youth and other people, personally meet with people, conduct seminars and participate in festivals in Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Germany, the RSA, and the USA. Corr.: The name of your group was given by... Answer: We are musicians and missionaries, and we are the ones who gave our group the name "Salvation." We pray that our group would remain an instrument of salvation in God's hands. Many thousands of people all over the world heard the Gospel through us. In our tours we bring people the truth about God and help local churches to be founded.
