Corr.: How did you make a decision to become a Christian performer? D.M.: I began composing songs before the salvation. Then after I repented I had a break almost 3 years. I didn’t want to compose anything myself, but I wanted that to come from God, from heaven – then it’s beautiful and deep, it touches people’s heart. Corr.: Do you have your own group? D.M.: I have no group of musicians, but very often my wife Svetlana who sings and a sister in Christ Nataliya Rastrosta who dances well perform with me. I sing songs accompanied with a guitar. Corr.: How do you write your songs? D.M.: I’m not a professional musician and it’s difficult to write when ordered. And songs come different way: in a prayer, while thinking, after the sermon or as a result of strong soul worries. Usually God gives idea at first and partly the first couplet with a refrain. And then it’s my task to complete. Some songs were unfinished more than 1 year. But it’s so pleasant after finishing composing the song to see God’s hand from the beginning till the end. Every song is a gift from God. For example, such great gift as a song “All glory to You” or such little gift as songs written for the wedding of friends. It’s a result of the intercourse with the Heavenly Father. And none of good song would be written without such intercourse. Corr.: What does music mean to you? D.M.: Music- is a gift given by God, a unique form given to a man to fill it with contents. The words with beautiful melodic music goes from the performer into the heart of a listener, passing mind, that’s why it’s so important that the contents should be clear and kind. If performing a song a person puts his love to the listener, can it leave a heart indifferent? That’s why it’s so important for God the expressing of our feelings to Him in music. For me music is beautiful melody, but only song with beautiful melody and deep contents in a poetic form can impress me. Cor.: What is your audience? D.M.: I have only some songs for non-believers. But the majority of them express my adoration with God and joy, happiness of the fact that He loves me. I pray that these songs would give people desire to come to Jesus. Many songs were composed from the life experience with God, that’s why they are deeply understandable only by believers. Cor.: Where do your concerts take place? D.M.: Usually I perform in churches: at the anniversary and other concerts, on the worship services on Sunday, and also while giving solo concerts. Cor.: Tell us, please, how did you come to Jesus? D.M.: God has done so much for me! Firstly, He gave me new life – a life with assurance in future. This assurance is because God is with me. I saw His guarding hand in my life and lives of my relatives many times. For example, obstetrical forceps had been used at my daughter’s birth. As a rule, an infringement of the locomotor apparatus can be a result of this, and 50% of it is an infantile cerebral paralysis. On the first checkup a nurse knowing the circumstances of the birth was very surprised that the child was healthy. She told: “Someone of you was born under a successful star. After this healthy can’t be born”. “Yes, under the star of Jesus Christ” – we answered.
