Alexander Roytman was born 07. 31.1960 in Bratsk city, Irkutsk region. Later his family moved to Ukraine. At the early age his music abilities were noticed. Then parents sent him to the musical school where he attended accordion classes. Soon he entered an evening musical school, the vocal department. His school teacher, an opera singer, saw in him a great prospect as the beginning singer of classics. However, Sasha wanted to find him and he begins singing in different groups. Festivals, concerts, tours, work with already known stars of Ukrainian stage became an integral part of his life. The connection with “wrong people” and “prohibited songs” of that time made him depend on alcohol and was the reason of depression and desire not to live. Everything lasted until the moment when he met one young Jew, who told him about God’s love and about the fact that Jesus can become his personal Savior and Lord. And in 1988 he repented and was born again. God entered his life and changed it completely, having filled it with deep sense and future in serving for God. Every day I thank God for the fate, which I have in Him. From the very beginning of my walking with God, I clearly heard from Him and knew what to do – to sing, devoting all songs to Him. Then the group “The light for the world” was formed and we preached the Gospel in cities and villages of Ukraine. Studying in 1990 in a Bible school “The Word of Life” in Tartu city, I heard the prophetic word for the Jewish people for the first time. In a year, in 1991, I arrived in Israel for the first time and fell in love with the country, where I met wonderful friends and my wife-to-be Dina. When I returned in Ukraine the first musical album “With love to Israel” was being born. We had lots of concerts and evangelizations in Ukraine and Belarus. In 1993 when I was studying in a Bible college “The Word of Life” in Upsala, Sweden, an international music team consisting of Swedes, Norwegians, Jews and Arabs was created… After finishing the education Alexander began serving in missions “Operation Zhabotinskiy” and “Good News Travels” and served in the church “The Word of God” in Kyiv. He had concerts in Russia and Ukraine. In summer 1994 he married and came in Israel. Soon he began to feel that God would open opportunities to carry musical services for the entire world. At that time the album “About him, about His love” was being born. At that time God acquainted me with lots of wonderful people, singers and performers. Among them are G. Abaryus, V. Klimenko, V. Korop, M. Sklyar, etc. We had a lot of concerts with them in different countries of the world. The acquaintances and collaboration with them was a great blessing for me and gave valuable experience in my serving to the Lord. Living in Israel, God gave me a desire to preach. God began bringing and saving people, as a result a mission community “Davar ha-Khaim” in Kiryam city, Haifa, was being born. In spring 1997 an album ”Praise the Lord, my soul”, dedicated to the 50 years of Israel appeared. The songs of this album were warmly accepted in churches. They show God’s love to Jewish people and Israel, tell about truthfulness and importance of God’s word. Later he recorded an album “The pearl” through which I wanted to close the youth to Jesus; and an album “Shalom from Israel” that is for the Jews in diasporas. For the last 5 years I took part in many concerts, evangelizations, festivals, conferences and special services for Jews that took part in more than 14 countries of the world. I wanted to achieve one aim – to fulfill God’s plan for his peoples. In my service I thank God for my wife Dina, who inspires me and supports in prayers.
