The band was founded in Vladivostok, in November 1998. We, its members, belong to evangelical churches — ÅCB and Missionary Union. The idea of creating a band was offered by the the family of missionaries: Evgeniy Êalashnikov and Natalya Slavskaya. They returned from Chukotka village Providence after 5 years of work and invited different musicians from various churches for a rehearsal. Several people came and today they are in our band. There wasn't any christian band in this city and in Dalniy Vostok as well. I think there wasn't such a band up to Ural mountains. «Providence» became the first and yet remains the only one. That's why we feel ourselves responsible for the whole Russia! We had about 200 perfomances for two years: in Primorskiy and Khabarovskiy regions, in Amursk area and in Kamchatka. In July 2000 we recorded the demo-disc, and in October we recorded our first album (called «Providence»). There were our own songs in this album and songs translated from English and several well-known songs created by different authors. Music style varied. Our band members: Slavskaya Natalya (singer, keyed instruments, songwriter): She was born in Vladivostok on the 8th of March 1975., and she grew up there. She became a believer in 1992. Her occupation is a choir batonist. Her life as a musician started in her chidhood when she attended a musical school (piano). And in music college she decided to devote herself to music. Spiridonova Olga (singer, keyed instruments): She was born on the 22nd of July in 1980. I attended the church since I was a teenager, and I participated in musical service, played the piano. I'm so happy that I found the band «Providence». Mirkina Olga (singer, acoustic guitar): She was born in the city of Artem of Primorskiy region on the 20th of October 1970. She garduated from two colleges: the commercial college and the building one. Praising the Lord with her singing she has served God since 1992. I always dreamt about praising God in a band and now this dream fulfilled. Degodyuk Evgeniy (DJ) (singer, musician): He was born on the 20 of August 1979 in Vladivostok where he spent the longest part of his conscious life. He has a secondary education. Now he is fulfilling his dream and is learning how to play on keyed instruments. Kuksin Max (guitar, mastering and job in the studio): He was born on the 2nd of April 1973 in Vladivostok. He didn't have any christian roots. In 1993 all his family went to Christ (Maxñ, his brother and their mother). He is an engineer. After graduating from the university he joined the Army and was in the battalion of builders. He developed his creativity from the early childhood. He was fond of playing the guitar and recording songs. Kalashnikov Evgeniy (bass-guitar): I was born in Vladivostok in 1970. He repented while he was in prison. Then he became a missioner and now he is working on starting a new church and working in a band. He started plaing the bass-guitar a year ago.
