Cor.: When and how did you decide to write and sing christian music? E.D.: I decided to perform music as soon as I came to the church. I started to peform christian music because I used to perform not christian music. And of course I had a desire to serve God with the gift I had. V. S.: The point is that I have never made a particular decision. I just had a desire to praise God. by singing and performing music. Cor.: Why do you have such a special name for your band? V.S.: Our band is called "Eskhate kh'Ora" because we live in the last time. The Bible says about it and we want to tell about it to those who don't know that they live in the last time. O.B.: You should have been with us at the moment we were choosing the name for our band! It should correspond to our belief and also it had to be stylish. We were choosing this and that but eventually we chose "Eskhate kh'Ora". May be it is not understandable but often we have opportunity to talk with people. They would give us different names because the name of our band is not usual. We got used to it and even started to collect these funny names people had given to us. Actually the name was not chosen by chance. The Greek word means "last time". First, all people know that we live in the last time. Even people who have never read the Bible use this phrase. Second, it is the belief of God's children and they wait for it. God's people live for this reason. They tell others about Messiah and His love because of it. The history of human society on the earth is for it. All things are going toward this goal. We will end up in the heavens. There will be everything man can even imagine. Cor.: How do you write your songs? O.B.: This is an interesting question. I experience something in my life. And I have something to say to God. Then I express all my feelings in a song. These kinds of songs are personal. But often when I fellowship with young people I come to understanding of a particular problem of someone and I know how to solve that. I want to share with them with my revelation and help them to make right decisions. Then I take a guitar, make a melody and words come to my mind. I have written many songs like this. Sometimes I recieve gifts from God. I mean that I get a song out of nothing. I like to sing these kinds of songs very much. Generally it is not good to speak much about "kitchen" because it is often not tidied up. Now I can you explain everuthing logically. If you knew how many songs would it be. These songs will be good ones. Our kitchen... It is not ours but God had given it to us for temporary using. He always gives us "provisions"... V.S.: When I have an inspiration I take a pen, sheet of paper and write words God gives me through His Holy Spirit. The same way with writing music. I get melody in my mind. I don't know where it comes from but right away I choose notes. Then it is ready to be performed. E.D.: Mainly we work with young people. Our songs speak about different problems. These songs tell young people that there is a way out of many problems through Jesus Christ. These songs are evangelical. Cor.: What does music mean for you? O.B.: Music has always had a great impact on me. I've sung since I was six years old. I participated in amateur talent activities, in a group of musical school and so on. But I appreciate music more than merrily some activities. Through music I can express what I experience. It is not easy to express it by words. How can you say "I love you" or "Grief about the lost"? Certanly words mean a lot. They make clear some abstraction musical forms. But all fine feelings and emotional changes one can express only through music. Someone said, 'If the things cannot be expressed through words they can be expressed through music. If music stops prayer begins.' Music is the world through which I can praise God. I use music like colours to tinge my life. These are my groaning I cannot express by words. But these are not my goal. They are gifts from Creator. My service for God is not the work but gratitude. V.S.: Music means a lot for me. I love it very much. It is my source of supplying. I serve God by it. Music is my profession and hobby. I would say that it is my life. E.D.: Music means a lot for me., It is my ministry. It is the way of my life., Cor.: Who do you sing for? V.S.: Our songs for the ones who are 16 to 25-30 years old. Mainly we sing for unbelievers. Our songs are evangelical. We don't want to sanctify God's people. Because it is not our work. Rather it is God's work. We want to proclaim Christ to young people. O.B.: Our songs are for young people. It is not a secret that music gives stereotype. For example, you can sing a song and don't take notice that you sing about sin. A song forms your a concept about sin. Sin becomes sweet for you. Concepts about life and attitude to others are formed in young people. If you look at them you will understand why there are so many defiled things. That's why we use words in our songs which are understandable for them. We want to tell them about reality. Our song "Soldier" shows the negative side of the things which are appreciated by others. This song was written on the basis of facts. We have one friend who was in wars. He has got many scars and reminiscences. He had been a leader in the Soviet Union since 1970. He couldn't sleep well. When he goes to bed, he turns on the radio because if there was silence he thought that everyone had died... God lives inside of us and He shows us the meaning of everything. In this way we try to open eyes of young people. We want them to see order of things and what may happen if one will break this order. We are not planning to change our style. There is a song "Don't bow the world let the world bow to you..." E.D.: As I have said already, mainly we work with young people. Our music, is for the ones who are 16 to 25 years old Cor.: Where do your concerts take place? Â.S.: Our concerts , take placein citiesâ and townsof Ukraine as well as in other countries which are close to Ukraine like Byelorussia, and in Rovno. We sing everywhere if we have an opportunity . Even one time we had several performances at the night club "Holiday". Cor.: Tell us about yourselves. O.B.: I am married. The name of my wife is Victoriya. I have to children: Alesya is six years old and Dan'ka is 4 years old. My favourite music is classic hardrock, hardrock, jazz rock. My favourite bands are "Deaf Leopard", "Pinck Floid" and "Chicago". I like all classic music but especiially I like baroque and rococo (Bach, Vivaldi, Orlando Lasso, Hendel). I like to rite bard songs. We play alternative music. I like christian bands: DC Talk, Skilet, Carman. Though I write novels about daily life I like to read scince fiction. My favourite book in the Bible is Ephesians. I like to eat good food and play football. I like to work a lot and then relax. All my friends are young people and I like to spend time with them. When we spend time with young people I don't feel that I am an old person. I love and appriciate my family because God had given it to me. V.S.: I am married. Music is my hobby. I like to cook. But I like music more then cooking. People from the church and the band are my friends. E.D.: I like to work at a computer. And I like music too. I like any kind of sport. I have my friends in the church and in the band. Cor.: Tell us your plans for the future. V.S.: We plan to write new songs about Christ. Also we want to improve our singing. We want to praise our God more and more with our singing. O.B.: I want the church to grow and people to get to know God. I want us to go all over the world. I would to organize a big christian festival in Rovno. Also I want to record solo with my wife. E.D.: I don't have any plans for the future. I will keep singing.
