The group "Masada" was founded by Konstantin Kosyachkov, who used to write songs and sing in the well-known band "Respublika," in Kiev. Konstantin had been working with "Respublika" since the middle of the 1980's. Stas Pokotilo is another constant participant of the group. He studied saxophone and graduated from Glier music college. For five years he played in restaraunts, lived accordingly, and had neither moral nor material satisfaction. In 1990, Konstantin turned to God, left "Respublika," and sought God's wisdom at Tartu Bible School in Estonia. He didn't play music for the next two years. Then he participated in a praise group, first as a guitar player, then as a worship leader. In 1994, he recorded his debut solo album "Songs of the Covenant of Love." At the same time a new, yet unnamed, group was born. In 1995, because of the testimony of his wife and daughter Irina, Stas Pokotilo received Christ. He met Konstantin at church, and Konstantin invited him to join the group. They played together at evangelistic concerts, they worked a lot and gave many concerts. Excluding bass guitar player Stas Pokotilo, the other members of the group changed constantly. At different times, Zhenya Voronko (of the group "Podzaschitniye"), Marina Masiuk (author of the album "Ozhidaniye"), and many other musicians played with the group. The group has given successful concerts in Moscow, Uzhgorod, Mukachevo, Chernovtsy, Slavutich, Kremenchug, Yevpatoriya, Simferopol, and many other cities. "Masada" took part in many Ukrainian and Russian festivals. The group performed at the festival "Bethlehem Star" in Moscow, together with "New Jerusalem" from Minsk and "Druzhki" from St. Petersburg; took part in the festival organized by the "Word of Life" church in Moscow; and had several tours in Siberia (Nizhnevartovsk, Kogalym, Pytyakh, Noyabrsk). The group recorded audio albums "The Son of Man" (1995) and "The Good Name" (1998, at Alexander Ponomaryov studio in Kiev). Songs represented in our hit-parade are taken from album "The Good Name", which was recorded by: Konstantin Kosyachkov - lyrics, music, guitar, vocals Stas Pokotilo - bass guitar Olechka Novitskaya - sang and laughed Igor Shepitsyn - photo Dima Prikordonniy (ex-"Respublika", produced by Yuliya Lord) - drums, engineering Vanya Shevchuk - sound engineer
