Stakhovsky Sergey Alexandrovich, 1955 – year of birth., graduated from the School of culture in Melitopol and became a choir conductor. He played at dances (at modern discos). Then he entered the Philharmonic. Then he had tours, many meetings and communication with musicians. Then restaurants: Nalchik, Telavi, Yerevan, Kharkov, Saint-Petersburg, Yurmala, Moscow. My family and professional life were in a deadlock. I had many questions without answers. What do I live for? Where am I going? What is going to happen to me and to my family in the future? That time it was 1994 and the program “700 Club” was on TV, Pat Robertson was the host. He talked about the Kingdom of God, about Jesus … And, although I didn’t understand everything that time, when he offered to pray together with him, I wished to do that. Time was going by. It seemed that there were not better changes for the future it even became worse and I wished to talk about Jesus when I was talking to people. My tongue just said: «You need Jesus». It was a completely new feeling. Gradually replacing my atheistic up bringing, God became real for me. I get to know people from the church «The Word of Life». They told me about Jesus and prayed for me. Once I was watching a Christian film about the creation of the universe and I felt the real presence of God. I wanted to read the Bible. Earlier Bible was just some sheet of paper for me. Suddenly I wanted to read the Bible. I came to the church. I was taken to the group of praise. From that very moment God started to change me in a serious way. I got free from many unnecessary things in my character. My thinking was changed. I started to see music in a different way. I stopped considering it as my idol. I started to listen to Christian singers: M.W.Smith, Avalon, All Denson, Carman, M. Becker ad many others. About the album: I don’t consider myself to be a singer, I’m a guitarist but I wish to sing the songs in Russian that inspired me mostly. And not just to sing, but also to record them and to make a message for people for whom God wasn’t showed as a Creator and Savior of their souls. Songs were in English and they needed to be translated. I asked Alexandra Grigorovich for help. Sometime ago she sang in one band with me and she knows English well. She agreed to work on my translation and rhythm. She did the translation for all the songs, we wrote verses 50/50. She is a good girl and she did a great job. Some other people helped me as well. I offered Alevtina to sing several songs and to help me with back-vocal, she agreed, and I’m very grateful for all of that. She is a very good singer and has a very good potential, and I hope, she will fulfill her potential in the future. Aleksey Ginkul «put» all these songs in the sequencer, and Vladimir Grigorovich recorded them. Now Vladimir works as a sound producer at the studio «From morning till night» in Kiev. I’m very grateful to my wife Galina, who helped me at all the stages of my work. And, of course, without blessing and financing of this project by my pastors Vladimir Tokaryev and Dmitry Bodyu, this album won’t exist. And what album we have – is up to you to judge, but I noticed that, some children, - one of them was my grandchild Dan’ka, - they like dancing while one song is playing, shouting: «Who is in your house?» And it gives me great pleasure. I’ll be very glad, if this album helps people to be close to God a little bit. Artamonova Alevtina Vladimirovna, 1972, graduated from Melitopol State Pedagogical Institute, faculty of music and pedagogics. I was fond of singing all the time, at the institute I fell in love with academic singing. Opera Operatic music was the only music I listened to and sang for a long time. Having graduated from the institute I went to Moscow to continue studying and to try myself at the stage. Now I understand that God put all the events in my life such a way so as I won’t be able to go by, without hearing the testimony about Him. I often thought that my life had to be changed for better. Once the church «The Word of Life» offered me to help the band of praise to be ready for Easter and for Birthday. I agreed gladly. It was very new for me and very interesting. Then I was offered to participate in the recording of the phonogram for the Christian musical festival «The benchmark». During my work I met a lot of believers. Their testimonies about things God did in their lives came into my heart and I understood that God gives me a possibility to change my life... I wasn’t mistaken! Everything was changed in my life. I met my husband in a church, we have a great family, and our son was born 1,5 months ago. He was named after his father – Alexander.
