Corr.: Could you describe us your creative way before and after you met God? M.G.: People are created by God's image and likeness, and therefore every human being is a creator, and I am not an exclusion. I believe that my creative way is the way that God leads me by. He helps me to overcome difficulties, fear and doubts. My big sister Irina is a musician. She dreamed to become a musician since she was a child, so she graduated from Kiev Conservatory. I studied piano for 3 years in a music school, but then I understood that two musicians in one family is too much. After that I did not perform music until in 1994 I received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Half a year later I read a very good verse in a Christian brochure. I felt that there was something missing, -- and suddenly I realized that this verse is missing music that sounded in my heart for a long time. Fortunately, my sister Irina as a piano player could make music that was in my heart sound. And there was born a song thorugh which we wanted to tell who God is and what we people mean to him. Then we recorded and sent to St. Petersburg three more songs. We have not recorded an album yet, but I beleieve that if there is God's will for that the album will surely be recorded. Corr.: Do you create your songs together with your sister Irina? M.G.: In the beginnig, my sister and I performed our songs in our church. Then a brother who liked our songs very much gave us an idea to record them at the studio and send to a Christian radio station in St. Petersburg. Then we started to think about arrrangements, but the Lord has provided us with everything and -- seemingly, by sheer chance -- Irina met the guy that she used to study with, and he wrote great arrangements. Corr.: Working with professionals, you certainly grew up as a musician? M.G.: When I recorded my first song at the studio I realized that I should pay serious attention to vocalism. There at the studio I met my future vocalism teacher who has been teaching me for next two years. I am very thankful to God who really gave me an opportunity to meet a man who has really taught me a lot. Corr.: What does Christian music mean to you? M.G.: I very much appreciate the fact that the Lord gave me an opportunity to talk to people by means of songs. These are very precious moments when you go on stage and share God's love with people. Corr.: Who do you perform for? M.G.: Songs that I write and perform are not aimed at a particular kind of audience; they express my feelings. I believe that my songs can tell much to believers as well as to those who don't know Christ yet. I sang for different people, and my songs touched hearts of people of different beliefs, backgrounds and ages. Corr.: Where do you perform? M.G.: I have not had solo concerts yet. Sometimes I sang at services that take place in the House or Architect in Kiev. I participate in festivals organized by Mission "Light on the East" and Association "Emmanuel." Corr.: What do you do in your free time? M.G.: I have no hobbies because I have no time for hobbies. I cannot say that music is my hobby; rather, it is my ministry. I love listening to music, to various kinds of music. I also like football very much; I am a fan of Dinamo Kiev. Corr.: What do you dream about? What are your plans for the future? M.G.: Plans for the future? Globally, to serve God with the gift that he gave me. On a lower level, I want to graduate from the institute sooner and record and album. These are basically all of my plans.
