I was born in Ukraine. As a child, I liked music, I loved to sing and to dance because since I was a child I started going to a musical school. I played and sang some concerts, at some important events and festivals. When I was 10, I started writing songs and poems, as well as playing piano and guitar. My life smiled at me and, in spite of the fact that we moved from place to place very often trying to find happiness in some other city, I would always find some things to do and some new friends. My young years were wild: I sang in a band, then I recorded my own soundtracks, I participated in different concerts and competitions. I was loved. I was the pride of the school; I had many friends and admirers. Each time when I went out to the stage, I prayed that I would the best and that I would earn as much success and praise as I can. When this would happen, I would forget about God and take all the glory for myself. I thought only about myself. Each day I became more and more self-centered and bad-tempered. I wasn’t happy with what I had; I wanted to have something more and something new. I started feeling lonely; my heart was empty and dark. I would come home, close the door and cry – I didn’t want to live. In January, 1995, on Christmas, I came to a Pentecost church service and I heard them singing Christmas songs. On the third day, the Lord touched me with His Holy Spirit and called me to Himself in the song. I wanted to stand up and pray but some wild pain didn’t let me go. I was “glued” to the chair and I couldn’t move. The tears were running down my face, but God gave me the strength to stand up. I came forward, repented and gave my life to Jesus! I remembered this day for my whole life. It became the day of my new birth – the day when I gave my heart to Jesus and repented of my sins and promised the Lord to have clean conscience. I became a new person; my priorities changed. Everything I longed for in my secular life became nothing for me. I loved God and His word. I spent my free time in the church serving the Lord with singing at the meetings. I started writing songs and lyrics for the Lord and even learnt how to direct the choir. My mother and brother believed, and some time later the Lord called my father too. In some time my father met one brother who worked in a Jewish mission. We became friends with him and with his wife. They brought us some books about Israel heritage – my father has Jewish background. One beautiful day we decided to move to Israel. In September, 1996 our plane landed at Ben-Gurion. Nobody met us in the airport and we didn’t know what was there for us. It took us a long time before we were able to find a church – we just didn’t know where to look for it. However, one day my father met a believer and he invited us to his church where we went. In some time, I found myself in the praise and worship team. When I was 18, I was called up for the military service and it went by very fast. Lord has always been with me and He never left me! I have seen many God’s miracles and I praise the Lord for saving me and leading me into this world. After the army He gave me a good job and He keeps blessing me day after day! Each day I come to know God closer and I wish you to have the same experience!!! “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light”. Matthew 11:28-30
