Cor.: Stas, tell us, please, when and how have you decided to compose and play a christian music? Answer: I have never intended to do that because songs are given from above regardless of our efforts and sophistications. If the songs are from God they tell about Him and his creature if from devil - they cover the rest of the topics. It happens quite often that some perfomers mention God, Jesus, Love in their songs which in reality do not make any sense. Sometimes the things go in the opposite way. Interviewer: Why have you called your group If and what meaning have you incorporated in it? Answer: It has not any. This word simply came into my mind more than ten years ago when we had just started to work together. We were invited to concerts but did not know what to do because there could not be a group without a name. We considerd many words and word-phrases but nothing was O.K. Once, on my way to rehearsal I distinctly heared this very word inside and understood it was given from above. Though a word if is rather usual it appeared to be to everyone's liking. As to the meaning? Nothing concret. You may say: If not you than who? And a word You may be both small and big lettered. Interviewer: Tell us, please, how do your songe appear? Answer: In general, my songs appear the way the name of the group came. First I take them down as if from somebody's dictation and then having discerned a certain meaning in them I frame the words with the help of knowledge I acquaired. The matter is that I do not consider myself to be a poet and can not that know a lot about it. Sometimes I set to music verses of classics and of contempropy poets such Grigogij Vikhrov, who is to my mind one of the best Russian poets. As to me I am too far from perfection but if my texts make somebody better it will be O.K. Interviewer: Why does your album Night Sight consist of acoustic ballades, why your concerts are held in a hard rock maner? Where does this meaning come from? Answer: Maybe, that there are a lot of songs for today. And the name of the aulbum was named after its first song that bears the same name - Night Sight. Why night I guess that the night was given to a person that he could imagine more clearly what the sight is. :Interviewer What is music for you? Answer: Music is harmony of the Universe. Interviewer: What audience are your songs oriented? Answer:The group has a bunch of songs. Among them one can find songs for boys, girls, for men and women, for grandmas and grandpas.No matter what religion they belong to. Interviewer: Where do you run your concerts? Answer: They take place everywhere: in rock clubs, sometimes in bars, in juvenile colonies, in prisons, in military commonds, in churches and so on and so forth. Interviewer: Your group exists quite a long time. How do you manage to survive at such a difficult period? Is there any secret? Answer: We have the richest donator in the world - it is the Lord Himself. He gives exactly what we need and worth of. I have never considered money to be something important. You cannot buy a friend, happiness or love either. Jesus says in very simple words: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?...But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well". Then I personally am not going to survive. Survive means to go down a muddy stream to a dirty swamp. My weapon is my word and my guitar. I am an ordinary soldier in this harmony of the Univerce. I make what I can maybe it is not very professionally done: he who listens to my works may judge about it. Interviewer: And how do you consider fame and exhagurated promotion of some "stars"? Answer:I would like to stick to Shakespeare words. He tells about such people as those making a lot of noise about something that does not exist. Or if you to say it blankly: "Stinkeroo is on surface while purls and diamonds are concealed at the bottom of the ocean and you should try hard to pick them up. I do not blame anybody. Try to imagine how bad they feel. Sponsors, banks and the like invested a huge summs of money in them. They must get the return on their investment. Consequently, they force-feed the whole country with these stars, showing them on TV and whenever they can just to sell them as profitable??? as possible. It is a vicious circle. In the result everuone is a victim. It has always been easier to sell pornography than the book of Dostoevskiy or Tolstoy. It will be to the point to say: "What was so we will reap?". Noone knows what to expect in the future. Interviewer: Stas, tell us please more about yourself: family, activities, hobbies, friends? Answer: My full name is Bartenev Stanislav Viktorovich, was born on 26th of February, 1964 on the planet named the Earth, in Moscow city. I graduated from Gneseny State music college, married, have two daughters. Played in the groups: Pulse, Mirrows, Black Coffee, Parade, Demarche. Worked as a teacher in Gnesiny college and in other rock colleges. But it stifled with my creativity. Now I work only with a tuitor and it is a kind of challage for me. I take the lessons from guitarists-beginners because they act in open manner. I know the rules according to which one should play but every rule can be compared to cell and it is difficult to get out of. Thank to my students I grasped that it is really complicated not to play but to think. Thought is beyond the hardest and the most stagnated rules. I have a wide range of hobbies and a lot of friends. Interviewer: Your plans for the future? Answer: To live and work in Jesus Christ. Interviewer: And to make the long story short, tell us please about God's miracle in your life. Answer: If someting is good in my life it is given by God. The most wonderful testimony is that I got to know about Him.
