Correspondent: How did you start writing music for God? V.P.: I met a Christian group when I worked at the studio. The guys offered me to play with them in evangelization. I agreed and soon I received Jesus as my personal Savior. It was not hard for me, several episodes from my childhood and teen age helped me to make the decision. Corr.: Victor, what does music mean to you? V.P.: Music is like love. Corr.: Could you tell us a few words about your work? V.P.: I have been working at the studio of Christian Association "Emmanuel" for several years, as a composer and sound producer. I write songs and music for the children's TV program "Superbook Club." Corr.: Where do you perform? V.P.: I used to do a lot of travelling with evangelistic outreaches to different cities and countries of the CIS. I performed my songs there, working together with the well-known Christian singer Nataliya Zhukovskaya who wrote songs for the album "Everything is Created by You." Now I work mostly at the studio, writing songs and arrangements. Sometimes I record songs for cartoons produced by the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) which are dubbed at our studio. A continuation of the "Spunky" cartoon will be on the air soon, and I sang in it. Corr.: Do you have any projects or plans for the future? V.P.: I'm working now on a new audio album. I also have plans to shoot a music video. Corr.: In principle, what is the difference between Christian and secular music? V.P.: It differs by its... content. And it is not chords that matter. Christian music differs from secular music not in form, but in spirit. A man that has God in his heart will surely feel this spirit. The Scripture says, "For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks" (Luke 6:45), that is, your creativity is what your soul overflows with.
